Five Reasons Private Dining is having its moment

Updated: 5 days ago

From birthdays and weddings to charity dos and corporate suppers, our private dining rooms have seen it all. We know how to make an event run smoothly and we understand why private dining is making a comeback.

Our talented Chefs work with you to design a menu that’s right for you, whilst our General Manager is on hand to acquaint you with our extensive wine list. Whatever the nature of your celebration, private dining can offer something bespoke, something special and something memorable.

If you’ve not tried private dining before, we’ve gathered a few reasons why you might be tempted to see our rooms at The Crown.

A Bespoke Evening

You want to create a unique menu designed with our chefs. When you organise an event in one of our private dining rooms then you can do just that. You’re the one that knows exactly what you want and the beauty of private dining is you can make that happen.

From a relaxed evening for the family to a larger get-together with friends, private dining rooms offer a unique and intimate atmosphere that can make any occasion more special.

Just you and your closest friends and family

You love the idea of a fabulous dinner party at home but the clear up mission at the end is just not worth it. Private dining is all the fun of a dinner party but you don’t have to lift a finger to cook or clear up.

One thing people don’t always think about is the acoustics. With a large group, it can be hard to hear each other in an already noisy dining area. Having a private dining space can be a little more sociable; it’s easier to make conversation with more in your group.

Great service

Warm hospitality is key. Our team go out of their way to make sure your private dining experience is every bit as memorable as it should be. Privacy goes without saying, but also, there’s the special attention you get from our team. You’ll receive more time at the table as they explain the dishes in as much detail as you want.

A little bit special

Sometimes it’s nice to just feel a little bit special. You won’t be interrupted and will have a true fine dining experience. Birthdays can pass us by but every now and then you deserve celebrating one. You deserve to be the centre of attention, be cooked for and feel special for the night.

Versatile

You can decorate the room if you want. Maybe a balloon or two? Maybe flowers that mean something to you. Within reason with private dining rooms, you can make them your own. Even better, we clear up the mess…

A private dining room experience is a great way to enjoy the ambiance of a restaurant without the hustle and bustle of the main dining area.

There’s three exclusive private dining rooms at The Crown, each a little different. The Kennedy Room, seating 14, allows you to dine in private for a relaxed lunch or dinner.

The Suffolk Room is a lounge bar with double doors that open out on to a private terrace garden. There’s space for 16 seated on the garden terrace.

Ingrams is for those big celebrations or corporate events when you need a little more space. You can seat 38 for lunch or dinner.

Just a few quotes from those that have enjoyed our private dining rooms:

We held our wedding reception at The Crown and it was utterly perfect! It’s the perfect venue for a special occasion. The food and wine amazing, staff are incredibly helpful (especially Gerry & Fiona!). Look forward to many happy meals here in the future!

I went for a friend's wedding recently and the venue, food and staff were all wonderful. Great choice of food. The bar was great again with a large choice of drinks. Clean toilets, dog friendly, easy to find on the map. Will definitely be going again!

When you start to plan your celebration, please come and see the private dining areas. Familiarise yourself with which room would work best for your function, we’ll only be happy to show you around.

There’ll be a dining room at The Crown that will fit your occasion perfectly.
